Labor costs in Germany are high, skilled workers are scarce in many industries, and the potential for automation is high. The solution is obvious: robots. They will soon take on unpleasant tasks in the home, too, says Mladen Milicevic of Unchained Robotics in "Startup - now completely honest."
Experts are convinced that we will see more and more robots in the coming years. Recently, large financing rounds for German robot startups caused a stir. They will help with unpleasant tasks, whether in the home or in industry, says Mladen Milicevic, founder of the Paderborn-based startup Unchained Robotics in the ntv podcast "Startup - now completely honest".
Like NEO, the humanoid robot from the Norwegian-American startup 1x. It was specifically developed to make people's lives easier. "In the long term, it will do your laundry, clean your house, tidy up and generally give you a lot of time back in your life," says founder Bernt Bornich.

Florian Theyermann from the Munich-based financial firm FCF Fox Corporate Finance is optimistic. "Europe and Germany in particular are one of the major robotics locations," he says. "This is due to the good interaction between startups and universities where spin-offs are created."
According to analyst firm IDC, more than $260 billion is expected to flow into the robotics industry by 2030. Investments that will be further driven by the AI boom. Unchained Robotics also wants a piece of that.
More time for beautiful things"In the future, close cooperation between humans and robots is expected," says Mladen Milicevic in the podcast. "Robots will be increasingly used in various areas such as in the home, in assembly and logistics halls, as well as in restaurants and fast-food chains. This will give people more time to concentrate on the exchange and the experience."
His Paderborn-based startup has, among other things, developed the MalocherBot, which can automate a large number of industrial production steps. This is intended to make everyday work easier for small and medium-sized companies, as labor costs in Germany are high, skilled workers are scarce in many industries, and the potential for automation is high. It is also a fact that 80 percent of manufacturing companies in Germany currently do not have a robot.
