Commuters beware: A central traffic artery near Hamburg is facing major restrictions. There is no alternative route for one direction of travel.
The renovation work on the overpass structure of the A7 over the A1 in the area of the Horster Dreieck near Hamburg is continuing. The work in the direction of north/Hamburg will be supplemented by additional measures, the Autobahn GmbH announced in a press release.
The schedule had to be adjusted because significant road damage was found between the A39/A1 feeder road and the A7 Elbtunnel feeder road to the A7 in the direction of Hanover. This damage must be repaired before the traffic routing is changed.
The asphalt work will be carried out by Autobahn GmbH in two time windows: from March 7 to 9 and from March 14 to 16, 2025. During these periods, traffic heading south (Hanover) will be diverted past the respective work area in one lane.
A new traffic routing will be put in place from March 17th until July 2025. Traffic from the A1 to the A7 heading south/Hanover will then be routed on two lanes. Heading north, from the A7 to the A1 heading Hamburg/Lübeck, one lane will be available on each carriageway.
Drivers who want to drive from the A1 from Bremen towards Hanover (A7) are particularly affected. For them, the exit to the A7 will remain closed until further notice. A diversion via the Maschener Kreuz is signposted.
