Blood-stained stone recovered: Body of 52-year-old Berliner discovered in Tuscany

A 52-year-old German woman was found dead in Italy. According to local police, the woman was originally from Berlin and had been living in Italy for some time. Initial investigations confirmed suspicions that the woman may have been the victim of a violent crime. Her body was discovered in a wooded area near the municipality of Castagno d'Andrea, about 50 kilometers from Florence. A blood-stained stone was recovered very close to the body.

The results of the autopsy, which will determine the definitive cause of death, are still pending. The woman had rented accommodation near the site where the body was found. The newspaper "La Nazione" reported that she lived there with her partner and his mother and ran a restaurant. The 52-year-old is also said to have a child who is only a few months old.

A dog walker discovered the body in the woods. The deceased was wearing a jogging outfit and had a severe head wound. She was last seen alive walking alone along a forest road early Wednesday morning.
