Arminia Bielefeld, the only third division football team remaining in the competition, wants to reach the semi-finals of the DFB Cup for the fourth time in the club's history. This Tuesday (8.45 p.m./ZDF and Sky), the favorites will host the recently struggling Bundesliga team Werder Bremen in the quarter-finals.
In the previous rounds, Bielefeld had knocked out the first division teams 1. FC Union Berlin (2:0) and SC Freiburg (3:1), among others. The East Westphalians had previously reached the cup semi-finals in the 2004/2005, 2005/2006 and most recently in 2014/2015. Werder Bremen has won the cup six times, most recently in the 2008/2009 season.
Cup defending champions Bayer Leverkusen and VfB Stuttgart are already in the semifinals. The last semifinalist will be decided on Wednesday between RB Leipzig and VfL Wolfsburg.
