A 65-year-old man was seriously injured at Linz Central Station on Saturday night.
At Linz Central Station on Saturday night, a 65-year-old man attempted to jump onto a departing train. The man likely fell and landed between the platform and the train. The train driver noticed the incident while checking his rearview mirror and initiated an emergency stop. The 65-year-old was conscious but suffered serious injuries. He was transported to Medical Campus III, police reported in a press release.
The exact circumstances of the accident were subject to further investigation. What was certain at this point was that the 28-year-old train conductor had signaled the 29-year-old train driver with a whistle around 9:30 p.m., signaling that the train was clear to proceed. The train was then set in motion.
