Preview: "Tatort: Zugzwang" on Das Erste

In "Tatort" (Das Erste), a murder occurs at a chess tournament in the Alps. In "Operation Fortune" (RTL), Jason Statham, an agent, must neutralize a dangerous superweapon. Furthermore, the mercenary Deadpool (ProSieben) assembles his own team of heroes.

An international chess tournament brings the game's elite to the Alps – including seven men and one woman. The brilliant but controversial Natalie Laurent (Roxane Duran) creates tension with her provocative manner and suspicion of cheating. When her second falls to her death from the roof of a luxury hotel, Leitmayr (Udo Wachtveitl), Batic (Miroslav Nemec), and Hammermann (Ferdinand Hofer) are faced with a mystery: Was it murder, a deliberate attempt at intimidation, or suicide? Amidst the chess moves and intrigue, the detectives search for the truth.

A dangerous technology has fallen into the hands of criminals in Odessa. Agent Orson Fortune (Jason Statham) and his team are tasked by the British government with stopping the deal and investigating the threat. The trail leads them to the unscrupulous arms dealer Greg Simmonds (Hugh Grant). To gain access to him, Fortune enlists the help of a well-known movie star.

The apple harvest is approaching, and reporter Beke Rieper (Felicitas Woll) is following the action for a story. She notices Romanian harvest worker Bogdan Popescu (Konstantin Lindhorst), whose behavior arouses suspicion among many – even Paul (Steve Windolf) observes him skeptically. Beke begins to have doubts: Is this mistrust justified, or is there more to it? Meanwhile, a tender rapprochement is developing between her and Paul.

10:15 p.m., ZDF, Signora Volpe: Entanglement, crime thriller

MI6 agent Sylvia Fox (Emilia Fox) is undercover in a villa on Lake Trasimeno to observe politician Hector Magrina (Pablo Scola). But suddenly, he is found dead—apparently drowned. The Carabinieri, led by Giovanni Riva (Giovanni Cirfiera), begin their investigation, while Sylvia looks around among the guests. When her cover is blown, she continues to investigate—on her own.
