Attending the launch of the Mexican Red Cross State Collection 2025, Governor Evelyn Salgado Pineda acknowledged the altruistic and humanitarian work of that institution, which has always demonstrated its support for the people of Guerrero, particularly in the face of the incidence of natural disasters. At this event, she also inaugurated the Diamante Red Cross Clinic, where thanks to the collaboration of various foundations, companies and the support of the state government, an investment of more than 5.2 million pesos was achieved for the construction of this health care space.
These facilities offer emergency care services, outpatient consultation, minor surgeries, X-rays, operating room, ultrasound, as well as a recovery room to serve both residents and visitors.
In the presence of various state officials, as well as directors of the Mexican Red Cross, the state leader asked everyone to participate in this crusade, whose primary objective is to continue with the task of supporting the population that needs it.
“Helping from the heart is an act that ennobles the soul and strengthens the ties that unite us as a community. Let us do our bit or our grain of sand, depending on what each one wants. We are going to set an example that inspires and transforms our state. As every year, the governor is present, of course I will be the first to set the example, to continue supporting this great institution, because it is not a duty, being able to help is an honor,” said the governor.
In her message to volunteers from the institution and civil society, Salgado Pineda expressed her pleasure at being part of this start of the collection, which is an extraordinary effort by a humanitarian institution that, for 115 years, “has been a beacon of hope for millions of people in Mexico and particularly in Guerrero,” based on the principles of impartiality and neutrality.
“It is not just an institution or association at the service of a government or ruler, it is an institution that is at the service of the people, of the communities, of all the countries that require it and in times of difficulty, there are no divisions, there are no colors, there are no differences. There is only one common cause, which is to help, protect and care for others,” he added.
During his participation, the state director of the Red Cross in Guerrero, Sergio Antonio Alonso Villaseñor, thanked the governor for her support in achieving the consolidation of the construction of this clinic, which will allow for the expansion of the various services, with care 365 days a year. “We thank the state government for providing us with this property, helping us to fulfill our humanitarian mission; thank you very much, Madam Governor,” he said.
He also announced that this project was also possible thanks to the support of the Manuel Arango AC foundation and the SC Johnson company. Alonso Villaseñor called on society to join this contribution through the annual collection, because he said that their support is essential to be able to continue carrying out the work.
The event was attended by the national advisor and state delegate of the Red Cross in Morelos, José Luis Alquicira Solís; the local deputy and president of the Board of Directors of the local congress, Jesús Parra García; the general director of the DIF Guerrero, Antelmo Magdaleno Solís; members of the State Cabinet; the delegate of the IMSS, María de Lourdes Díaz Espinosa; just to mention a few.
