Fire in a house in Tepic claims the life of a family

A family lost their lives in a fire in their home in Tepic ; cardboard and other materials that caused the fire were stored there.

The events occurred on the night of Sunday, February 24, in a house located on the streets of the Prieto Crispín neighborhood , in the municipality of Tepic, in the state of Nayarit .

“According to the report received from the 911 emergency line, a fire was reported in a home located in the Prieto Crispín neighborhood, at the address Lucio Cabañas #405 ,” posted the Facebook account of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection of Nayarit (SSPC).

Members of the Nayarit Fire Department, State Police and Municipal Police arrived at the scene and carried out fire control and extinguishing tasks.

Two grandparents and a young woman die in a fire in Tepic

Once the emergency services controlled and extinguished the fire, an inspection was carried out in the house and three lifeless bodies were found in different areas.

"Three bodies were found in different areas of the home. The victims were a 54-year-old woman, a 24-year-old woman and a 68-year-old man.

"The Nayarit Prosecutor's Office has initiated the corresponding procedures for the recovery of the bodies and the clarification of the facts," the SSPC concluded in its statement.

Local media reported that authorities and emergency services were searching for four more people in the house, including three minors, but it was reported that these individuals were outside the home at the time of the fire.

The three minors and their mother spent the night at their maternal grandparents' house, but unfortunately an aunt and paternal grandparents died in the fire.
