March 2025 holidays: this is the list of mandatory breaks

The Federal Labor Law ( LFT ) agreed on the holidays for March 2025 , providing the opportunity for families to enjoy the mandatory days of rest .

Likewise, the Ministry of Public Education ( SEP ) shared its list of long weekends for March 2025, so students will also have their days off.

So if you are waiting for the March 2025 holidays to spend with your family, we will share them with you below.

According to the provisions of the LFT, holidays are days that are considered official days off.

That is, workers receive mandatory rest, just like students.

Thus, the LFT established that for March 2025 there is only one holiday for workers nationwide.

Specifically, this mandatory day of rest will be the third Monday in March, that is, next March 17 , in commemoration of March 21, the birthday of Benito Juárez.

However, students will be able to enjoy three days of mandatory rest , exclusively according to the SEP calendar.

According to the stipulations, the SEP calendar marks the following as days of rest for students:

• Monday, March 17
• Friday, March 21, on the occasion of the registration of grades in the system
• Friday, March 28, on the occasion of the meeting of the Technical School Council (CTE)

As mentioned above in this same note, next Monday, March 17 is an official holiday due to the LFT.

Therefore, as it is an official day of rest, the LFT establishes regulations for workers who go to their workplaces on that date.

According to Article 73 of the LFT, workers who work on holidays must receive triple payment for their services .

This is because the law establishes that employees will receive their usual pay for their work day, plus double pay for coming in on an official day of rest.
