The Head of Government said that the work of the firefighters does not begin with the report of fire on forest land , but that they are already ready to open firebreaks, as well as to remove supplies that increase the number of calls, a job that, she added, should be recognized by citizens.

The general director of Corenadr, Adán Peña Fuentes, reported that with the start of the new strategy to combat forest fires, 2,119 fighters organized into 197 brigades will be deployed. Where 500 of them belong to the institutional routes under his charge and the “Altepetl” program , as well as various material resources.
Support for fighting fires“In the territory we have 164 vehicles, including pick-up trucks and stakes; four specialized fire engines for fighting fires. We carry out surveillance and detection in 14 towers and three monitoring camps. And we have 662 communication devices to be able to cover 98 percent of the conservation land,” he said.
The local leader announced at the ceremony that fireproof uniforms will arrive for the brigade members starting in May, which will include collars, boots, pants, helmets and shirts. She said that this equipment is crucial for them to be able to carry out their work, and stressed that the Government provides all the necessary supplies.

Peña Fuentes announced that the brigades have a five-minute indicator for detecting a fire, which must be fought within one hour and 48 minutes. He stressed that no other entity in the country carries out work with such a high level of response.
" We are going to deliver results to our Mexico City because we are the most important specialized body in our country," said the head of Corenadr.
