A 36-year-old woman, whose identity has not been released, was reported missing last Saturday morning, September 6, after her trail disappeared in the dense vegetation of Pigeon River State Forest in Michigan, United States.
According to local authorities, the woman ventured into the woods to complete a YouTube survival challenge, but soon became lost and was unable to return to her camp.

According to officers at the Michigan State Police (MSP) Gaylord Post, the woman's journey began Friday afternoon when she decided to leave her temporary shelter in search of water.
The citizen also confessed that her goal was to spend time surrounded by nature and survive on whatever food she found on the land. However, after walking a few meters, she couldn't find a way back to her makeshift home.
Although the woman disappeared around 5:00 p.m. on Friday, the challenge organizers did not immediately alert authorities, as they began a search on their own.
Having no success and realizing that the person had still not appeared after 12 hours, they contacted 911 around 5:00 a.m. to notify the police of what had happened.

As soon as the group alerted local officers, they initiated a ground investigation, requesting assistance from Michigan State Police canine units.
However, the area's weather conditions hampered the search, as debris and downed trees were present from an ice storm that blanketed the forest earlier this year.

Although the uniformed officers' efforts seemed insufficient, they finally activated one of the MSP Aviation Unit's helicopters to gain greater visibility from the sky and managed to locate the missing woman.
Accordingly, authorities confirmed through social media that after the discovery, the vehicle helped direct ground crews to the woman, who was rescued without any injuries.
