Stadium fever is contagious. Ever since Taylor Swift's revaluation after becoming the first artist to sell out every single stadium tour , it seems like that's the only way to calculate an artist's value. The bigger, more crowded, more monumental, the better. Let the numbers keep rising. And while this mentality has long seemed reserved for the American turbo-capitalist spirit , it's also reached our shores. And our pop divas also want to play in the big leagues. That entails trying to fill an Olympic stadium, even if it's not always an easy task.
Since Aitana launched Alpha in 2023, her goal was to create a massive venue. But Barcelona's Estadi Sant Jordi or Madrid's Wizink Center were no longer enough. Her goal became the Bernabéu Stadium . A dream that was not only thwarted once, due to delays in construction, but also a second time due to logistical and soundproofing issues at the stadium . Such was her obsession with giving a concert of this magnitude that in Metamorfosis , the Netflix documentary in which she showed her most intimate side and the creation process of Cuarto Azul , she stated that " This concert was going to change my life . Not having it happen devastated me ." But the Catalan artist is a tireless worker , and every goal she sets for herself is a goal she achieves. The tour for her fourth album kicked off on July 19 at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium in Barcelona .
Said and done. By the announced date, there were practically no tickets left on sale. Although she wasn't the first Spanish female soloist to perform the Lluis Companys — Lola Indigo achieved this feat a week earlier when she relocated her concert from Cornellà to Barcelona— Aitana has made history . But let's take it step by step, because what was supposed to be a tour-opening concert became a celebration of a career that only seems to accumulate successes.

With more access controls than usual, getting into the venue was slightly slower compared to other musical blockbusters like Beyoncé or Coldplay concerts. That's why it was worth arriving early and without rushing, and while doing so, discovering a support act on par with Aitana . Julieta , the Catalan singer and producer, was in charge of getting the stadium going. Brilliant, perfectly choreographed pop that invites you to dance to club beats and urban themes. A potential superstar who managed to get a standing ovation from everyone in attendance. And it was precisely this dedication from an audience dressed in white and blue, in reference to the aesthetics of their idol's latest album, that set the tone for the entire evening .
At 8:15 p.m., Aitana opened the doors of her blue room to us to shout about love, heartbreak, and a race to overcome . Little remains of the innocence of that girl who came second in the 2017 edition of the television program OT . Before the eyes of everyone present, we had an international superstar , pure charisma , hypnotic charm, dressed in white, a mix between a bride and a fairy. With every glance she directed at the audience, the crowd went wild, with deafening screams. And since she's decided to go all out, she hasn't held anything back and has fired the starting gun with 6 de Febrero . Each and every one of her words has been recited by her fans. A light pop mass for heartbreak.

The artist's idea was to review all her eras - a very hackneyed terminology right now, although on many occasions the idea of eras is not very distinguishable within the discography, and is more a construction of the live show - so the concert has been divided into blocks. In addition, she had a narrator who explained the concept of metamorphosis , in the style of the story that could be seen a year ago on Karol G 's tour. On a bare stage, and a butterfly-shaped platform, Aitana has shone from the first moment . Accompanied by a group of dancers, she performed " Superestrella" to "Telephone ," from her first album "Spoiler," without forgetting the well-known slogan that " you're going to stay," after all, she has shown that some stories deserve a second part . But what would a party be without friends? Having last performed it live in 2018, Aitana War has happened again. Ana Guerra has taken the stage to perform one of her first hits, "Lo Malo ." The audience's surprise and appreciation were so overwhelming that for the first few seconds of the song, the artists couldn't be heard over the screams of their fans. But their fellow contestant wasn't the only guest. As a true lover of love, she didn't hesitate to invite the Oques Grasses frontman to sing "La gent que estimo," a song that wasn't his own but that he embraced as his favorite of the moment.
The show seemed to have studied all the formulas for how to give an epic concert, bringing them together and translating them into Aitana 's universe. So the second block was a guitar concert. Time to open the album that she claimed was her most personal to date: 11 Reasons . The approach was that of a true 00s punk-pop artist . Lots of guitars, lots of drive, a black and rock look, and then revisiting hits like 11 Reasons, or a cover of Avril Lavigne 's Girlfriend that became your ID photo. Up to this point, everything might seem, although impeccable, predictable. But at the halfway point of the concert , Aitana had more than one trick up her sleeve . At the most intimate, delicate, and vulnerable moment of the concert, that is, during her performance of her ballad Música en el cielo , she appeared in the stands, among the audience, and recited it as if she were just another one of the attendees. An angelic voice amidst the astonishment of the crowd.
And if we've gone from pop to pop-punk, the shock after the ballad was even greater. Everyone to the dance floor, everyone to Club Alpha. The third block opened with an ABBA remix of Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!, Dancing Queen , and an interpolation of their song Las Babys , while all the dancers performed on camera. Neon lights, club beats, disco sparkles— Los Angeles also sins . Dressed in a customized Adidas outfit, Montjuic transformed for a few minutes into the Club Alpha that once so scandalized puritanical parents. Surely the greatest success, to consolidate the vision of this celebration of freedom, was inviting a ballroom dance troupe, authentic figures of the scene, even though they were only there for a moment and no one introduced them. There was no time to waste; we had to dance all night . The audience sang the first verses of "En el Coche" with only the emotion of singing a classic. And even though Danna Paola wasn't in the venue, AQYNE was a riot of neon euphoria, light synths, and EDM drops . But if there was one notable absence, it was Quevedo 's performance of GRAN VÍA . The audience, however, made the song resonate as if the canary were actually there.

The last thing you'd expect from Aitana would be hardstyle, but her live version of 24 rosas , mounted on a glitter butterfly , was an approximation of the raves that none of her fans will go to. But contrasts, she is very much her own person, she transforms. What was expected, and did not disappoint, was her calculated sincerity and closeness with the fans . Nor the fact that she addressed her audience in Catalan for much of the concert. And since she is Aitana , and this is her party, she can do whatever she wants. Like inviting Pep Sala to sing Boig Per Tu or playing Flying Free by Pont aeri. The dream of every petite Catalan girl has come true and was sung along by more than 50,000 attendees.
The final flourish was filled with her greatest hits —although at this point in the concert all of her songs had seemed like greatest hits—like Formentera, but not before a string of thanks. Thanks to her friends, her team, the three buses full of family, Vampire —the creative agency behind the show that's part of Primavera Sound —and all her fans, who, of course, are the best ! YES, YOU'RE FROM BARCELONA! Extremely excited to be performing in her first stadium , and emphasizing this on a couple of occasions, she let Las Babys explode in so that the mothers could dance their way back to their youth, the daughters could adore their favorite pop star , and the Barça mascot could join her on stage. At this point, as if the concert hadn't already been going on for almost three hours, the entire audience continued singing and jumping with Segundo Intender (Second Attempt), Conexión Psíquica (Psychic Connection ), and La Chica Perfecta (Perfect Girl ). Afterward, the night ended with fireworks and a standing ovation: U S ESTIMO MOLTISSIM (Us Estimate Moltissam) . If this has been the start of a tour, we can bet, without fear of being wrong, that it will be one of those that go down in history .
