Army launches search operation after disappearances in Puebla

MADRID (EUROPA PRESS) - The Mexican Army launched a major search operation after 11 people disappeared in the municipality of Amozoc, Puebla, despite the fact the cases occurred in different locations.
Security forces have launched ground and air searches in an attempt to locate them after relatives of the missing have staged several protests in recent weeks.
In total, nearly 200 officers have been deployed in the surrounding area to carry out patrol duties, which will also extend to the main highways in the area.
Jorge Cobián Esperón, head of the State Investigation Agency, emphasized the "need" to launch the operation: "Our main concern is the well-being of these people because, so far, their families have told us they have not been able to locate them."
"This is also our concern, and that of all the institutions participating in the operation," he asserted.
