Diego Maradona case: the trial against the nurse would begin in the second half of the year

The trial by popular jury , whose main defendant is nurse Gisella Dahiana Madrid for the alleged "homicide with eventual intent" of Diego Armando Maradona, is expected to begin in the second half of the year.

This was reported by Verónica Ojeda's advisor and current partner, Mario Baudry, in conversation with the Argentine News Agency , after a new hearing held at the Criminal Court number seven of San Isidro.

"All the evidence was handed over today, but the defense did not do so," said the lawyer, and pointed out: "With the clues we have, there is a way for the nurse to escape." In this context, he considered that Madrid, who did not attend court, should be tried "at least" for the crime of abandonment followed by death : "I understand that she is guilty from all the videos we saw."

"She was there from 6 in the morning and she never went to see Diego and that was her job," she added, and highlighted that Verónica Ojeda and Jana Maradona attended the meeting in San Isidro. For her part, she pointed out that the next hearing will take place on July 10 after the end of the main debate.

Baudry confirmed that the ordinary trial against neurologist Leopoldo Luque, psychologist Agustina Cosachov, psychologist Carlos Díaz, nurse Ricardo Almirón, his boss Mariano Perroni, clinical physician Pedro Pablo Di Spagna and the coordinating physician of a health insurance company, Nancy Edith Forlini, will begin on March 11.

Dalma and Giannina Maradona , Verónica Ojeda, Rocío Oliva, the lawyer Matías Morla and the head of the Argentine Football Association (AFA), Claudio "Chiqui" Tapia will appear before Judge Coello.

The sisters of "El Diez" , Ana Estela and Rita Mabel Maradona, the former president of Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata, Gabriel Pellegrino, the lawyer Mario and the journalists Nelson Castro and Marcela Tauro will also testify.
