Mexican bullfighter Joselito Adame announces his retirement from the bullring.

Mexican bullfighter Joselito Adame (Aguascalientes, 36) has decided to end his career as a matador this afternoon at the Huesca bullring, where he will walk out onto the ring alongside Roca Rey and Tomás to fight a bullfight from the El Pilar ranch.
He announced this in a public statement, stating that, although it was a very difficult decision, he felt "the need to stop, to leave the bullfighter at this moment to give the center to the man."
Adame adds that he considers himself “a privileged human being and proud to be a bullfighter” after dedicating his life to the profession for 26 years “intensely and uninterruptedly,” and that he has faced it “with absolute dedication, commitment, and respect.”
“Today is one of the most important and defining days of my life,” the Mexican bullfighter continues. “Since that distant October 10, 2000, when I was just 11 years old, the day I first dressed in lights, I never imagined this moment would come.”
The moment is today, on the 606th bullfight of his career, which coincides with the La Albahaca fair in Huesca.
Adame doesn't say whether he'll say goodbye to his country's fans, simply stating that "time, calm, and a different perspective to face this new way of life will shape" his decisions, "both personally and professionally."
Joselito Adame was born in Aguascalientes on March 22, 1989. He took the alternative in Arles, France, on September 7, 2007, with El Juli as his sponsor and bulls from Antonio Bañuelos.
He confirmed it at the Monumental Plaza México on February 8, 2009, alongside Enrique Ponce and Arturo Macías, and two years later, on May 25, 2011, at the Plaza de Las Ventas, sponsored by Sebastián Castella.
Joselito Adame has bullfought 18 times in Madrid. His last appearance was on June 4, 2025, which coincided with his 600th bullfight.
