When to Watch New Episodes of Ironheart

When to Watch New Episodes of Ironheart
preview for Ironheart - Official Trailer (Marvel Entertainment)

Dominique Thorne is suiting up again as Riri Williams in Ironheart, the long-anticipated Marvel television series set after the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Premiering today on Disney+, the six-episode show fuses Chicago grit with cutting-edge innovation as Riri forges a super-suit not in a high-tech lab, but in a garage.

The series follows Riri as she returns home to Chicago after her time in Wakanda. Still reeling from those events, she finds herself at a crossroads, asking, What should she do with her genius-level intellect? What kind of hero does she want to be? “It was very quickly realized that she was her own character in her own lane,” Black Panther director Ryan Coogler, who executive produced Ironheart, noted to Marvel. “There’s a difference between [Riri] and maybe a Captain America or a Black Panther, where a mantle is being passed.”

That includes building an upgraded suit, one made from a scrappy vision rather than immense wealth. She quickly crosses paths with Parker Robbins, a charismatic but dangerous figure whose cloak channels dark powers.

In her own words, Riri is no longer just the girl who helped save Wakanda; this series is about “who she is on a regular Tuesday,” the actress told Emmy Magazine. That means navigating old friendships, new enemies, and the challenges of building a legacy in a world that keeps underestimating her.

Thorne returns alongside Anthony Ramos, who plays Parker, a.k.a. The Hood. As Ramos described it to The Hollywood Reporter: “I get to play this villain, The Hood, and Parker Robbins in the comics, he gets this hood, and it’s too powerful for him. It’s overwhelming. It’s literally, physically, and emotionally breaking him, but it’s giving him so much power that he’s addicted.”

Coogler calls Ironheart a mix between Daredevil and WandaVision—“a pretty crazy combination,” he teased to Marvel. “You’ve got characters trying to make do with what they have,” he said. “Then you combine that with cosmic Marvel... It really highlights what happens when ambition goes unchecked.”
