Aitana Bonmatí's sequined dress to collect her third Ballon d'Or

Aitana Bonmatí is now part of world football history. For the third consecutive year, the FC Barcelona and Spanish national team player has won the Ballon d'Or, the most prestigious trophy in the sport. To attend the gala, held at the Châtelet Theatre in Paris, the midfielder chose an original dress made with brown maxi sequins . While most of her teammates, and even the other guests, opted for black, Aitana chose to take a risk with an original, disco-inspired look.
The soccer player slipped into a halterneck, backless dress covered in giant sequins that made her shine even more. The fitted silhouette featured a large slit at the back of the skirt. The sequins were sewn onto nude mesh. She paired the look with black ankle-strap heels and minimalist jewelry for a sophisticated look.
Bonmatí, leaving the spotlight on the luxurious gown, completed her look with a very simple beauty look. Her hair was styled in a ballerina bun with two loose strands framing her face. Her makeup was very natural and luminous, with a touch of pink blush on her cheeks and pink lips.

The soccer player was one of the most elegant on the red carpet, where other women also shone, such as Charlene of Monaco , dressed in white, and some of Bonmatí's colleagues, such as Alexia Putellas, also a finalist for the Ballon d'Or, who opted for a sheer slip dress.
In 2023, when she won her first Ballon d'Or, Aitana chose a black dress with a sheer tulle top adorned with rhinestones, designed by Versace . On that occasion, she completed the look with Rabat jewelry and a polished bun.

In 2024, the Catalan actress again chose a haute couture brand, Louis Vuitton , to collect her second Ballon d'Or. It was a white dress decorated with gray rhinestones, with a V-neckline and gathered at the waist. She also wore her hair in a bun with a center part, and opted for red lips that contrasted with the tone of the dress.
This year, the soccer player has stepped out of her comfort zone, opting for a very original design that is undoubtedly one of the trends we'll see on the red carpets this fall and winter.
