Aix-en-Provence (13): two illegal migrants, Algerian and Tunisian, sentenced to 15 and 17 years in prison for the brutal rape of a student

According to Le Figar , two illegal immigrants were sentenced Friday evening to heavy prison terms for the gang rape of an 18-year-old student in Aix-en-Provence in December 2021. Mohamed Annabi, a 29-year-old Algerian, was sentenced to 17 years in prison , with a permanent ban from French territory and registration in the sex offenders register. His accomplice, Amen-Allah Handiri, a 20-year-old Tunisian, a minor at the time of the events, was sentenced to 15 years in prison without the excuse of minority being accepted.

The victim, Anissa*, was followed from a nightclub and then forcibly dragged to a dead-end street near the SNCF train station, before being raped one after the other. Alerted by her screams, four young passersby intervened, putting the attackers to flight. They were arrested the next day thanks to video surveillance.

" It was a brutal rape par excellence ," summarized Maud Bertrand, the victim's lawyer. A sociology student at the time, the young woman had to stop her studies and has since suffered from severe post-traumatic stress disorder.
