BAC police officer attacked in Tourcoing, suspect arrested

A police officer from the Anti-Crime Brigade (BAC) was "molested" this Thursday, September 11 in Tourcoing (Nord) while carrying out his duties, announced Gérald Darmanin on X. The Nord prefecture reports a police officer who was "violently attacked."
"He was only doing his job: ensuring public peace for all, especially for the poorest," wrote the resigning Minister of Justice, offering the police officer and his colleagues his "full and unwavering support."
The Prefect of the Nord region, Bertrand Gaume, announced that one person was arrested by police, and that his "accomplices are still being actively sought." According to BFMTV, a youth was arrested and "other participants are being actively sought." A judicial investigation is currently underway.
The outgoing Interior Minister, Bruno Retailleau, spoke to the injured police officer by telephone on Thursday evening to assure him of his support, BFMTV has learned.
