Donald Trump threatened Nigeria with military action on Saturday if Africa's most populous country did not stop what the US president claims are "murders of Christians" by "Islamist terrorists," accusations denied by Abuja. "If the Nigerian government continues to tolerate the murders of Christians, the United States will immediately cease all aid to Nigeria, and may very well go into this now disgraced country and shoot indiscriminately to totally annihilate the Islamist terrorists who are committing these horrific atrocities," the US president thundered on his Truth Social platform.
