The Var, Bouches-du-Rhône, and Aude departments are exposed to a risk described as "very high" by Météo France. Six other departments are on orange alert.

Three departments in the south of France are on red alert this Monday, July 7, due to the increased danger of forest fires , according to Météo France.

The Var, Bouches-du-Rhône, and Aude departments are exposed to a risk described as "very high" regarding fire outbreaks. In addition, six other departments are under orange alert: Corse-du-Sud, Haute-Corse, Vaucluse, Gard, Hérault, and Pyrénées-Orientales.

Over the past few hours, several fires have broken out in areas under red alert, particularly around Brignoles and in the Marseille region, where 150 firefighters were deployed to Le Rove this Sunday afternoon.

For Tuesday, maximum vigilance will remain in effect in three departments: Var, Bouches-du-Rhône and Vaucluse.
