Gap (Hautes-Alpes): Six French flags burned by youths in public toilets next to a war memorial

The story dates back to July 19, when the town of Gap was preparing a commemoration for the victims of racist and anti-Semitic crimes committed by the French state the following day, reports Le Dauphiné Libéré .
Six French flags were found burned by a municipal agent on the same day of July 19 in the public toilets located next to the war memorial, confirms La Provence .

Three youths aged 17 to 20 were identified using the city's CCTV cameras. One of them is from Gap, according to our colleagues. One is a minor in a shelter in the Var department, while the other two are adults under judicial supervision, according to the national police.
The three young men were taken into custody at the Gap police station. The case has been referred to the judicial court in the Alpine town. They will be summoned there in November.
The national police issued a statement in which it reiterated that “no attack on the symbols and values of the Republic is tolerated” .
