Up to 34°C: after a cool interlude, temperatures will rise again this Thursday

Summer temperatures are returning after a few cool days earlier this week. The temperature is rising this Thursday, July 10, despite the mistral wind, which is expected to reach gusts of up to 50 km/h, particularly in Brittany, Charentes, Poitou, and the Rhône Valley, contributing to the increased risk of forest fires.
In the afternoon, temperatures will exceed 25°C everywhere in the plains and reach 30°C in inland Brittany, Touraine and New Aquitaine.
On Friday, full sunshine will shine over France, with the exception of a few cumulus clouds at the foot of the Pyrenees, the Alps and Corsica, with a risk of showers.
"The Mistral wind is easing, but the danger of forest fires remains present around the Mediterranean. Temperatures are summery," notes Météo-France in its bulletin published this Wednesday.
On Saturday, the sky will alternate between clouds and clear spells. Temperatures are expected to reach 30°C locally, such as in Normandy, Pays de la Loire, and Nouvelle-Aquitaine. In Bordeaux, temperatures are expected to reach at least 34°C.
There will be a risk of thunderstorms late in the day and overnight, from the Pyrenees to the Southern Alps via the Massif Central, potentially producing heavy rain locally, forecasters added.
Finally, on Sunday, the sky will become cloudy in the southern half, and thanks to humid air, showers could once again affect the southeastern regions and Languedoc-Roussillon. Temperatures will be warm for the season, but not particularly high.
This Tuesday, forecasts were more pessimistic for this weekend, and even a heatwave was predicted. "Model figures showed today that temperatures would ultimately drop until July 14. The national temperature threshold of 25.3°C will not be reached," Claire Chanal, a forecaster at Météo-France in the Île-de-France region, told BFMTV.com.
