The oratorio Mass for a Fragile Planet will be performed on June 25 and 26 at the Graslin Theater in Nantes. This ode to nature brings together professional artists from Angers Nantes Opera and youth and women's choirs from several neighborhoods of Nantes.

A long rain, followed by a noisy thunderstorm, opens the show. Then this powerful question challenges the audience: How can we take care of the planet if we don't take care of our neighbor? The Mass for a Fragile Planet can begin. This oratorio, created by composer Guillaume Hazebrouck of the Frasques company for Angers Nantes Opéra, is inspired by the eponymous book by contemporary South African author Antjie Krog ( see references ). In the form of a ceremony using classical liturgical codes, she addresses a vibrant call to cherish and protect nature. Her revisited Credo, for example, invites us to believe in the "all-powerful Sun," "the Virgin Water," or "Holy Oxygen," who "suffered under Homo sapiens."
