July 4th ephemeris: Happy birthday to Henri Leconte!

Born on July 4, 1963 in Lillers (62) in France, former professional tennis player Henri Leconte celebrates his 62nd birthday today.
It was at the age of 6 that he first held a tennis racket in his hands: at the time, he played at the Joinville tennis club (52). Henri made his mark in 1980, when he won the junior title at the French Open tennis tournament (or Roland-Garros tournament). He then began his professional career, winning his first doubles title in Bologna (1981), as well as a singles title in Stockholm (1982). In 1984, he won his only Grand Slam title, at Roland-Garros.
Henri Leconte has an impressive record of achievement, with nine singles and ten doubles titles to his name. In 1991, he also won a Davis Cup against the United States . In October 1996, he retired from playing, leaving behind the memory of a spectacular player on the courts.
