Montréal-la-Cluse. A crew from Ain will participate in the Super 5 Solidarity Raid in Morocco

Gilles Demol defines himself as "a jack-of-all-trades with a passion for motorsports, with a taste for adventure and a love of humanity." A few weeks ago, with his friend David Carvalho from the Jura, he created the association " Maroc Raid Humanitaire au grand cœur ," whose name reflects the commitment of its members.
They wanted to put their passion for raiding to work for the benefit of the most disadvantaged, with one goal: to support humanitarian efforts. "We'd long had the idea of taking on the challenge of a raid together: the humanitarian nature of the Super 5 Raid finally convinced us," the participants emphasize.
It's decided: the two drivers will participate in the Super 5 Raid, an 11-day, 4,000-kilometer cultural and solidarity road trip exploring Morocco and the Sahara Desert. It will take place from October 12 to 22.
They will depart from Montréal-la-Cluse towards Spain as far as Orio, then head to Algeciras and then take the boat to Tangier (Morocco) and will complete a circuit in Morocco, a total route from Montréal-la-Cluse of 8,000 kilometers. Fifty teams will be on the starting line, the Haut-Bugiste crew being the only one from Ain.
This raid was carefully planned and required a long preparation in order to be ready for departure; such an adventure cannot be improvised.
A provisional budget (8,290 euros) was established, including the purchase of a vehicle and its upgrading, the necessary diesel, registration for the raid and humanitarian purchases.
To obtain the necessary funds, the two friends appealed for financial and material donations; sponsors were approached and responded favorably, as evidenced by the advertising inserts that will be placed on the vehicle.
The Super 5 Raid is not just a rally; it also aims to help isolated populations in southern Morocco, and participants are encouraged to take part in solidarity actions.
At the start, they must each give 10 kg of food and hygiene products to the Restos du Cœur. Each team must also bring 20 kg of solidarity equipment. The Haut-Bugistes will bring clothing, school supplies, and various other items that will be given to the population during the trip. Two bicycles for isolated children will also be donated, and thanks to the donations, they will buy fifty palm trees for the production of dates.
