Public broadcasting reform: what does Laurence Bloch's report contain?

Laurence Bloch's report is "a report of conviction," as she describes it in the foreword to the document that La Croix was able to consult. Commissioned by the Minister of Culture, Rachida Dati, last March and initially expected for June 30, the document was finally submitted on Monday, June 16, on the eve of the return to the Culture Committee of the proposed law on the reform of public broadcasting, this Tuesday, June 17. The text, voted on in first reading by senators in 2023, should then be examined in the National Assembly on Monday, June 30 and Tuesday, July 1.
Laurence Bloch is therefore convinced that Radio France, France Télévisions, and the INA must be overseen by a holding company to be able to compete with the digital giants. The former head of France Inter and then director of programs at Radio France, who retired in July 2024, has drafted a series of eight proposals to support the implementation of the law, which has not yet been passed.
