Saint-Méard-de-Dronne: First national carriage driving competition this weekend

The Aquitaine Regional Carriage Driving Association and the Valley Riders and Drivers are organizing the first national carriage driving competition on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 July at the La Tour sports field.
On the vast, shaded site of the La Tour sports field, 40 boxes have been installed for the comfort of the horses participating in the first national carriage driving competition in Saint -Méard-de-Dronne. Three events are on the program. Saturday will be devoted to dressage and maneuverability. A series of compulsory figures to be executed from memory to evaluate the precision, pace, and beauty of the carriage (dressage), tests at the points where the carriages must pass through a succession of numbered gates in the best time (maneuverability).
With the marathon, Sunday will be just as spectacular. All competitors will compete on a course with varied, winding, and narrow terrain, where they must navigate technically challenging "obstacles" (fords, stumps, slopes, barriers, etc.). Refreshments and fast food will be available throughout the weekend. A gala dinner for 16 euros will be served on Saturday evening, upon reservation.
