Summer exhibitions in the region: the fascinating world of clouds

The Invitation to the Clouds exhibition at the Revermont Museum in Cuisiat (Ain) invites us to discover the fascinating world of clouds (which occupy a central place in the religious stories and traditions of many civilizations) as well as their influence on art and science. Artists have always been captivated by these celestial formations, ranging from the landscapes of Jacob van Ruisdael and Gustave Le Gray to the contemporary creations of Abraham Poincheval and Marc Riboud, who reinterpret them from a modern perspective.
Also on display is Marcelle Loubchansky (1912-1988), a painter associated with the cloud movement whose work is characterized by ethereal compositions, playing with subtle colors, transparencies, and floating forms. Visitors will discover the effects of human activities on natural cycles while children will experiment with the tools and techniques used by scientists to study clouds.
Note the “Clouds” film concert on July 9.
