The ephemeris of July 27: in 1982, the decriminalization of homosexuality

43 years ago, homosexuality was no longer considered a crime under the Criminal Code.

This decriminalization, decided by the National Assembly, is based on a proposal by Robert Badinter . In addition to his fight against the death penalty, the most hated Minister of Justice in history also fought for gay rights. Nine years later, homosexuality would be removed from the World Health Organization's list of mental illnesses.
