Toulois. The Lions Club is inviting people to free vision and diabetes screenings during its gourmet walk this Sunday, June 15.

Toulois. The Lions Club is inviting people to free vision and diabetes screenings during its gourmet walk this Sunday, June 15.

The 3rd edition of the gourmet walk organized this Sunday, June 15, by the Toul Lions Club was a resounding success. "It's full," said Alain Vigneron, head of the committee overseeing the 2025 edition of the event.

Nevertheless, whether you're a walker or not, everyone is invited to come to the start of the event, at the Triboulottes Hall in Bruley. The sight and health bus will be parked in the parking lot for the first time: "It was acquired by the Lions Clubs District 103 East. They funded it with contributions from the various clubs. It has been fully equipped, and an ophthalmologist, a Lions member, will conduct examinations on a voluntary basis."

All proceeds from the gourmet walk support the Toul Lions Club's initiatives, including health-related solidarity projects. Since their inception, the Lions have worked, among other things, to improve eyesight and combat diabetes.

These two missions will be fulfilled on June 15, in the Triboulottes room, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with free vision and diabetes screenings for the entire population of Toulois and without prior appointment.

This action is made possible by the commitment of volunteer healthcare professionals, and provides an initial level of diagnosis. If any signs of concern are detected, those affected will be referred to the appropriate medical facilities.

The arrival of the sight and health bus represents "a valuable opportunity for the inhabitants of our rural areas, often far from specialized care centers," according to Jean-Marie Ledeuil, president of the Toul Lions Club.

The benefits of early detection are highlighted by healthcare professionals. The Vision and Health Bus provides a concrete response to this challenge by reaching out to rural populations to detect, inform, and guide patients. This specially adapted vehicle thus fully fulfills its essential preventive role.

According to Jean-Marie Ledeuil , the bus provided to residents represents "a tremendous lever for raising awareness and taking action." This action "is fully in line with our international priorities in the fight against vision problems and diabetes."

The Toul Lions Club invites the public to take advantage of this public health initiative as part of a festive and gourmet day.

The sight and health bus will be parked in front of the Triboulottes hall on Sunday, June 15, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for free screenings for vision problems and diabetes.
