A demonstration is planned in Lyon on Monday, May 12, against the end-of-life bill.

Starting Monday, May 12, the National Assembly is scheduled to begin examining two bills relating to end-of-life care. The first concerns palliative care, while the second provides a " right to assisted dying ." The bill is scheduled to be debated for two weeks.

Representatives of the Alliance VITA association, which campaigns against the right to abortion and euthanasia, are calling for demonstrations across France this Monday, in some fifty cities. A rally is planned in Lyon, starting at 7 p.m., at Place Bellecour.

"While the French are experiencing a daily crisis in the healthcare system and access to care, how can we understand this legislative offensive to ratify euthanasia? " the association asks in a press release.
