This C.P. Company Jacket Will Be Passed Down for Generations

This jacket came into my life after I mentioned to a good friend how much I liked it. Flash forward to my birthday and he surprised me with it. I never thought someone would give me such an expensive piece of clothing. It was completely out of the blue.
I love C.P. Company. I’m an aficionado of anything from Massimo Osti, the founder of C.P. Company and Stone Island. It’s partly because I love football. Soccer. If you look into the story of those Italian designers like Osti, you learn European football hooligans adopted them. Those brands also developed their own fabrics and created something timeless.
The cut, the pattern, the colors of this jacket—they all stood out to me. It’s kind of an old-school, timeless piece. A lot of my C.P. stuff is very technical. This is so different. People tend to recognize my other C.P. Company clothing because the brand is well-known for its technical fabrics. When I tell them this jacket is C.P., they’re surprised.
I’m sentimental about gifts. I can’t bear to give them up—especially if it’s from someone close to me who I value. Anytime someone asks about a gift, it takes me back to the time and place when the person gave it to me. So I would never get rid of this jacket. And I take really good care of my clothes. It’s not about archiving them. I wear everything, and I live in my clothes as much as possible. But I’m careful. I try to hold on to things for as long as I can. In the future, if I have a family, I can pass this on to my kids and say, “This is something that I wore in my 20s and 30s. It’s an expression of who I am.”
