Conegliano steamroller, Florence also bends. And there are 44 victories in a row

Prosecco Doc scores 44 in the advance of the penultimate day of the return leg. There are many consecutive victories between cups and championship and today the Florentine sextet of Bisonte pays the price. A balanced match for long stretches, but the quality, precision and cynicism of Santarelli's champions made the difference. Salvation postponed for Florence that will have to wait for the results of Rome.
In the first set the Bisontine did very well and managed to make an incisive impression on their game, so much so that they snatched the set from the Panthers (the seventh in the entire championship). Santarelli's sextet was ahead for two thirds of the set, only to then suffer the comeback of the Gigliate. Very good attacks by Nervini (6 points), Malual (5) and Davyskiba (5). For Prosecco Doc the usual Haak scored 6 points. The set then ended 25-21 with the winning attack by Nervini. In the second partial the two teams initially played in equilibrium (7-7) which was then broken by Conegliano who took the lead with a reasonable advantage (10-14). The Tuscans didn't give up and closed the gap (18-20) only to then suffer another push from the Venetians (20-24). After the double set point was cancelled, which forced Santarelli to take a time-out, Fahr (6 points in the set) closed with an excellent first half (22-25). Haak and Chirichella also did well (5 points each). For Florence, another 5 points for Malual. Imoco started off strong in the third set thanks to the lethal attacks of Haak and Fahr (7-14). Conegliano's offensive action continued and, despite a couple of errors, they took the lead to 12-20. Four points from Lanier (MVP) took Conegliano to 14-23, Fahr put it down to 15-24 and Lanier herself (7 points) closed the set with an ace (15-25). Bisonte started the fourth set well, taking a 5-2 lead, but the Venetians didn't sit back and watch, closing the gap to 6-5. Another run by the home team who take first the 11-7 and then the 17-14. The Venetians do not sit back and watch and recover the disadvantage taking the score to 21-21. Lanier puts down the ball for 23-24 and the match is closed by the winning block by Haak.
