English derby in Europa League: Bilbao final will be United-Tottenham

Nothing new on the English front. As the reassuring partial results of the first leg already suggested, the Europa League final will be British -tinged between Manchester United and Tottenham. It is Amorim's team that gets the pass to Bilbao, where the cup will be awarded on May 21, and not Athletic, who also lost in the return match, suffering a comeback by the Red Devils and collapsing in the second half. On the other hand, Tottenham is sailing serenely through the storm of Bodø. The decisive one-two comes shortly after the hour mark and that's enough to get the better of the Norwegians.

As expected, Amorim's team did not do much to manage the inertia of the game, leaving it to the Basques. Berenguer had an interesting ball in the 9th minute, but from a good position in the area he shot high. In the 31st minute, however, Valverde's team broke the deadlock: Maguire lost a bad ball on the edge of the area, Djalò kicked but was blocked, Jauregizar picked it up and found the top corner. Athletic remained forward and Manchester United tried to take advantage of this on the counterattack. Dorgu played a perfect pass to Garnacho, who in front of Agirrezabala attempted a lopsided soft touch that ended wide (44'). An invention by Mount put a damper on the Spaniards' faint hopes. Yoro served the Englishman in the area, followed by a backheel and an unstoppable right-footed curler to equalise the score in the 72nd minute. Seven minutes later, Casemiro doubled the lead with a clever twist of the head to deflect Bruno Fernandes' free-kick cross into the net. The old acquaintances from Serie A completed United's third: Dorgu served Diallo, who reached the byline and offered Hojlund a very simple ball to push into the goal (85'). The exclamation point was once again Mount's, who, in injury time, scored almost from midfield after the Basque goalkeeper's misplaced clearance.

The technical gap is noticeable in the early stages, even with a decidedly wintry climate accompanied by rain. Spurs create danger with Richarlison – shot blocked – and Udogie, whose suggestion in the area is deflected just in time by Khaikin. The Bodø/Glimt goalkeeper makes the first save in the 22nd minute, on a precise but weak free kick from Pedro Porro. The pace overall remains rather low in the second half. The Norwegians look for the solution in the air, Udogie is alert at the far post to avert any risks (53'). The push towards the final is given by Solanke, in the 63rd minute: corner from the left, Romero lays it off and the attacker pushes it into the net from close range. Bodø/Glimt feels the blow but is also unlucky. In fact, Tottenham's second goal is a cross that goes into the net from Pedro Porro (69'). In the final seconds of the match, Porro kicks Sørli's foot in the penalty area and Mariani awards the penalty, but the call is corrected from the video room because the Tottenham player only hits the ball.
