Inter, Milan and the mayor: two and a half hours of meeting for the stadium. Scaroni: "We are working"

Inter and Milan met for two and a half hours with the mayor of Milan, Beppe Sala, to discuss the project for the new San Siro. The clubs and the Municipality are working to reach a shared figure for the sale of San Siro and surrounding areas. Paolo Scaroni, president of Milan, made it clear that he was satisfied: "We are working, it is a work in progress. Optimism? I am always optimistic".

In the meeting, Ansa writes, they discussed how to reach a shared figure. These are calculations in which different variables must be considered, such as demolitions and possible reclamation. The basis is that provided by the Revenue Agency which valued the stadium and the areas at 197 million. The ongoing negotiations are based on this evaluation to reach a final figure for the sale.

In recent weeks, Milan and Inter have entrusted the project to Norman Foster and Manica, international excellences who won an international competition between some of the most important studios in the world. A choice that demonstrates the clubs' desire to invest heavily, at the highest level, in the stadium. The goal of Inter and Milan is to present the project to the Municipality by the first half of 2026. In the coming months, therefore, there will be meetings to arrive at a preliminary project and then a final version. In February, instead, the city will host the opening of the Winter Olympic Games in the "old" San Siro.
