Mamma e Papà Cairo Trophy: Torino advances to the final against Atalanta, chasing a hat-trick.

The packed stands at Alessandria's Moccagatta Stadium provided a thrilling spectacle on the pitch, with dramatic turns and a more than decent level of football. The first day of the Mamma e Papà Cairo Memorial Trophy , dedicated to the memory of Maria Giulia Castelli and Giuseppe Cairo, parents of the president of Toro Urbano, is a very positive one. Tonight, the lights will be on again in Alessandria, as the highlight of the event that officially opened the Primavera season arrives: at 9:00 PM, the youth teams of Torino and Atalanta will face off for the cup. Before that, at 5:30 PM, Milan and Inter will meet in the third-place play-off.

Tonight, Torino, coached by Christian Fioratti, will be looking for a hat-trick. The Granata have triumphed in the last two editions of the tournament, and at 9 p.m., they'll try to repeat that feat against Giovanni Bosi's Atalanta. Yesterday, Torino defeated Giovanni Renna's AC Milan 6-4 on penalties in their semifinal match, watched by first-team coach Marco Baroni and technical director Davide Vagnati, who traveled from Turin to oversee the Under-20s. The match between the Granata and the Rossoneri ended in penalties, after a 1-1 draw in the 90th minute: in regulation time, Milan took the lead with Borsani's penalty. Early in the second half, Torino wasted a penalty through Gabellini (saved by Longoni), then the Rossoneri nearly doubled their lead, hitting the crossbar through Di Siena before Carvalho equalized with a header. This is the penalty sequence: Gabellini (Torino, goal), Pandolfi (Milan, saved by Siviero); Ferraris (T goal), Cappelletti (M goal); Gatto (T goal), Scotti (M goal); Olinga (T goal), Cullotta (M goal); Zaia (T goal).

This afternoon's semifinal was also decided on penalties: Atalanta defeated Inter 9-8, after a 1-1 draw in regulation time. Inter's Della Mora took the lead after half an hour, with Mouisse equalizing early in the second half. Atalanta and Inter went ahead from eleven meters, with Sorino's error hitting the crossbar being the decisive factor. This is the penalty shootout: Humanes (Inter, goal), Mungari (Atalanta, goal); Putsen (1st goal), Steffanoni (1st goal); El Mahboubi (1st goal), Ramaj (1st goal); Kartelo (1st goal), Gobbo (1st goal); Cerpelletti (1st goal), Cakolli (1st goal); Maye (1st goal), Ruiz de Valdivia (1st goal); Strand (1st goal), Leandri (1st goal); Sorino (1st crossbar), Belli (1st goal).
