A wave of music ready to invade Udine with a thousand musicians

Over a thousand musicians will fill the historic center of Udine on Saturday, September 27th, for the 46th ANBIMA Regional Band Festival of Friuli Venezia Giulia, celebrating the 70th anniversary of the national association. This event will transform the heart of the city into an open-air stage. The parade will feature over a thousand young musicians from 40 bands, representing the entire region. Beginning at 3:30 PM, the city will come alive with five parades through the main streets, from Via Vittorio Veneto to Via Mercatovecchio. The highlight of the event will be the grand final concert in Piazza Libertà, where all the bands will unite as a single formation at 5:00 PM, performing iconic pieces such as the Mameli Anthem and the new song "Musica in Piazza," composed especially for the occasion by Marco Frizzarin.
"It's going to be a huge organized chaos," joked Pasquale Moro, president of ANBIMA FVG, emphasizing the joy of an initiative that unites the entire community. From Rome, ANBIMA national president Giampaolo Lazzeri praised Friuli Venezia Giulia as a "model for all of Italy," capable of combining musical quality and civic engagement.
The day will conclude with the symbolic passing of the baton to Maniago, which will host the 2026 edition.
