Bertrando, the sword and the mystery of power: exceptional visit to the Cathedral of Udine

The Patriarch's sword is a unique specimen, not only for its workmanship, but for its strong symbolic value: it combines spiritual power and military authority, embodying the role of the Patriarch in medieval Friuli. It will be visible until tomorrow, Saturday 7 June, before undergoing a major restoration. The guided tour is part of the cycle "The Middle Ages discovered - The pilgrim Middle Ages", promoted by the Parish of Santa Maria Annunziata and supported by the Municipality of Udine.
