From July 28th the Jesolo Dance Festival: stages, performances and live shows

by Massimiliano Craus

Jesolo, the center of the dance world with Maria Meoni and MMEventi, once again capable of moving the dance people around Italy. In addition to the tour of the Veneto Junior Ballet, the visionary but at the same time very concrete artistic director is pushing her Jesolo Dance Festival, one of the most precious creations of MMEventi, on stage from July 28th to August 1st. Everything is ready, therefore, in the locations of Palacornaro and Piazza Milano in Jesolo with a rich program of workshops, performances and live shows. The festival will officially open on Sunday July 27th in Piazza Milano with “Showcase”, a show by Veneto Junior Ballet, directed and choreographed by Milena di Nardo, Giorgio Azzone and Mino Viesti. An evening dedicated to youth excellence and then, starting July 28, the Palacornaro will be transformed into an open artistic laboratory: five intense days of classical, modern, contemporary and theatre dance workshops, designed for dancers of all levels who wish to improve, compare and grow under the guidance of national and international level teachers. But that's not all, the big news this year will be a focus dedicated to virtuosity in classical ballet, to delve into technique, dynamics and expressiveness in the most brilliant repertoires of the academic panorama. Closing the festival, on August 1 in Piazza Milano, the traditional Gala of territorial choreutic realities, which will see schools and groups from all over Italy perform, under the artistic direction of Maria Meoni, in a great collective embrace of dance as a universal language. A Jesolo, therefore, with a rich program and an equally eagerly awaited parterre by the dance people. Starting with Marisa Caprara for classical and Milena Di Nardo for classical and pointe, Thomas Signorelli with the Modern and Contemporary workshop, Mino Viesti for Modern, Massimo Gerardi with the Contemporary workshop and Giorgio Azzone in Contemporary. Who better than this cast could have consolidated the MMEventi format? “The Jesolo Dance Festival is an initiative that combines training, entertainment and sharing – explains Maria Meoni to the press – valorising talent and promoting the culture of dance in one of the most iconic places on the Adriatic Riviera. After all, those who know me know how much effort we make far and wide across the Peninsula, seeking out and finding young talents and beloved professionals to raise the bar of an artistic and cultural movement that is too often mistreated. With the Jesolo Dance Festival we also aim to educate the new dancing generation to make the leap in quality”. After all, the Jesolo Dance Festival is the launch pad for many young talents ready for the world of national and international work, with an unparalleled showcase that the Veneto Junior Ballet itself offers at 360°.
