Max Gazzè's concert in Castelfidardo has been canceled: PIF 2025 will be without its flagship 50th anniversary events.

Max Gazzè's concert in Castelfidardo has been canceled: PIF 2025 will be without its flagship 50th anniversary events.
A decision that the mayor of Castelfidardo, Ascani, called "one of responsibility." Public resources must be spent carefully, and politicians must recognize when promises cannot guarantee their desires. Here's what happened.
PIF 2025 (Castelfidardo International Accordion Prize) without major concerts, including Max Gazzè's concert cancelled.

PIF 2025 (Castelfidardo International Accordion Prize) without major concerts, including Max Gazzè's concert cancelled.

Castelfidardo, August 23, 2025 - Fifty years are a tangible sign of tradition , prestige, and commitment, but also of responsibility. Therefore, in announcing the outline program for the edition celebrating the half-century of the International Accordion Prize and the presentation of the cataloging work undertaken for the UNESCO nomination, the Municipal Administration announces the cancellation of two events. Due to financial reasons, the concerts "Musicae loce" by Max Gazzè with the Saltarello Popular Orchestra (scheduled for September 11) and "Incanto a quattro mani" by Danilo Rea and Luciano Biondini (September 13) have been cut, thus eliminating the location in the Monument Park.

This is a painful but inevitable decision given the lack of funding the organization was counting on. The funding is uncertain and the Region cannot finance it before the start of the event. Those who had already purchased tickets online will be automatically credited by the end of the month via the Liveticket platform.
"We've made a responsible choice that I'm proud of. Public resources must be spent carefully, and politicians must recognize when unexpected events and promises cannot guarantee their goals," commented Mayor Ascani.
Despite the scaled-down program, it will still be a PIF of global importance and scope, with a myriad of free events revolving around the historic core of the Prize & Competition for soloists and groups.
The Salone degli Stemmi, Piazza della Repubblica, Auditorium San Francesco, and Teatro Astra are the key venues where the sounds and harmonies of the auditions, judged by an international jury, will intertwine daily with the matinees and showcases offered by AMMA member companies, as well as afternoon and evening concerts featuring numerous guests.
