Forte Belvedere in Florence reopens, summer events begin

The Belvedere Fort in Florence reopens its doors on June 24th, on the occasion of the feast of San Giovanni, patron saint of the city, comes back to life thanks to a valorisation plan promoted by the Mus.e Foundation, which will manage it for the next ten years. The Fort, it is explained in a note, will remain open until October 15th, it will no longer be just a venue for temporary exhibitions, and the Mus.e project aims to transform it into a cultural center with a multidisciplinary proposal capable of combining history, landscape, contemporary art and music. The reactivation of the panoramic café - renamed Belvedere Firenze - with new spaces dedicated to events cultural events including concerts and talks, in addition to the strengthening of the bookshop. The café, which will reopen in the terrace rooms on June 30th, it will be accessible every day even beyond the museum's opening hours. On the occasion of the opening on the 30th there will be a concert by the Orchestra della Toscana with the maestro Giovanni Conte. "One of the most beautiful and symbolic of Florence, with a new season dedicated to of art, creativity and participation - says the Mayor Sara Funaro -. Forte Belvedere returns to the city with a new management, entrusted to the Mus.e Foundation because this monumental complex, unique for Florence, is increasingly accessible, alive and experienced with many initiatives ranging from most varied disciplines. Not only art as the protagonist but also the music, which will enliven the whole summer with a programme of level, and moments of study dedicated to even the most little ones: there will be many opportunities to rediscover and live better an iconic place and among the most loved by the Florentines". Between the main novelties of the summer of 2025 the "Forte in" review Music", with a rich calendar of concerts, starting from July 2nd. Alongside the music, there will also be talks and meetings on the programme Thursday at sunset, entitled The Actuality of Beauty. Another key element is a broad valorisation programme, diversified, designed to involve all types of audiences, both resident and occasional. A central role will be entrusted to the Firenze Forma Continua project. And again, also visits and activities dedicated to the history and spaces of the Fort and its connections with the city past and present. The Forte Belvedere will be open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10am to 8pm and will be free for residents of the metropolitan city of Florence.
