Space for play, small museums tell their stories

(by Marzia Apice) Trying to build toys ancient, perhaps recalling some "specimen" seen at the home of the grandparents; recover the "forgotten" games of the past, now swallowed up by modernity, to show them to the new generations or discover those characteristic of certain areas geographical. And then have fun with foods and recipes related to certain playful experiences to organize fun dinners in family. The eighth season will be entirely dedicated to the world of games. edition of the National Day of Small Museums, in program on September 21st and established to promote discovery of these very carefully curated and often tiny exhibition spaces scattered from North to South throughout Italy. Places of culture and participation closely linked to the territory of reference, proudly "different" from the large spaces Italian museums, the numerous small Italian museums - are over 400 people are members of the association founded in 2007 by Giancarlo Dall'Ara - they therefore show themselves with the objective declared to make known its most authentic face, the their richness and the warmth of a visiting experience close-up and without filters, in which the human factor makes the difference difference. But the National Day also represents the opportunity for a stimulus, not only towards residents and new, potential visitors, but also for institutions, so that they understand the true value and real dimensions of the world of small museums. All the museums that have decided to join the day of party on Sunday 21 September will give the public the possibility of free entry - or with the maximum discount provided for by the entrance fees - in their exhibition spaces and, as a gesture of welcome and hospitality, they will also offer a gift, mirror of their specific identity and obviously declined following the theme of this edition. Here then is that whoever crosses the entrance door will be able to receive for example fairy tale forest cards, postcards with instructions reproduced of ancient games, parchment with instructions for playing "a "stanga", parchment with instructions for making a antique toy, postcards with historical reproductions of children playing: the idea is to share knowledge, traditions, art and beauty and playing together, both big and small little ones.
