Junts opens the door to voting against debt relief: "It forgives Andalusia more than Catalonia, so they don't trick us"

The spokesperson for Junts in the Parliament, Mònica Sales, warned this Tuesday that the agreement between the Government and ERC for the forgiveness of the debt of the Autonomous Liquidity Fund (FLA) may be a joke: " They should not try to trick us because this pact consolidates the coffee for everyone." In addition, she stressed that the State "will forgive more debt to Andalusia than to Catalonia" , and that, in percentage terms, Andalusia and Madrid are "ahead" of the Generalitat.
The agreement between the Government of Pedro Sánchez and ERC will mean the forgiveness of 17,104 million of the debt contracted by the Generalitat with the FLA, a mechanism that the Treasury has proposed to apply to all communities of the common regime, up to a total amount of 83,200 million euros.
"All the communities will benefit from this, so the proportional part that we Catalans will have to pay, which we will have to assume, will be the same. This money belongs to the Catalans , so we do not have to thank anyone," he said at a press conference in the Catalan Chamber.
According to Sales, the agreement will mean 200 million euros per year in terms of interest, and this "does not resolve the financing problem and deepens the fiscal deficit, which is 22 billion euros."
Without clarifying Junts' position in Congress, he has defended that his party's proposal involves the total forgiveness of the FLA debt, which amounts to 73 billion .
Regarding the agreements of the Bilateral Commission between the State and the Generalitat, he argued that they have closed issues that Junts has been putting on the table "for some time" in terms of security and multiple recidivism, such as increasing the number of judges in Catalonia.
