Los Aguilar and 90s Pop Tour arrive at the Mazatlan Carnival after Grupo Firme leaves

After Grupo Firme, Jorge Medina and Josi Cuen cancelled their performance at the Mazatlán Carnival , those in charge of the biggest party in the port of Sinaloa reported that their place would be taken by Los Aguilar and 90s Pop Tour .

Pepe, Angela and Leonardo Aguilar will be at the coronation of the Carnival Queen, and Magneto, JNS, Caló, Kabah, Mercurio and El Circulo at the coronation of the King of Joy. Both events will be presented at the Teodoro Mariscal stadium, completely free of charge.

The event authorities announced that tickets will be handed out on the day of the performance, at the stadium box office.

In addition, the concerts of Plácido Domingo and Alejandro Sanz will be 2x1, so that everyone can enjoy their performances.

Grupo Firme cancels hours before the event

Through a statement, Grupo Firme , who was scheduled for the coronation of the Carnival Queen, announced its cancellation, after having received threats in the city of Tijuana , where they were left with a banner and a human head.

“We deeply regret to inform you that Grupo Firme's performance for this March 1st at the Mazatlán Carnival is cancelled. For Music VIP, the well-being of those who have accompanied us on this journey: our family, which is you, our fans, are and will always be the most important thing. We hope to meet again soon to sing, celebrate and continue making history together,” they wrote.

Jorge Medina and Josi Cuen did the same, presenting a show together at the coronation of the King of Joy, as the opening of the carnival festivities, but without revealing the reasons.

“We deeply regret to inform you that due to Alejos issues with 'Juntos', our performance scheduled for February 27 at the Mazatlán Carnival 2025 is cancelled. We hope to see you very soon,” they said.

A few hours earlier, the Secretary General of the Government, Feliciano Castro Melendrez, had said that no artist had expressed their intention to cancel their concerts, and that all shows were continuing without incident.

The official said that the threats to Grupo Firme have nothing to do with the port festival, but that a special operation will still be implemented with more than three thousand elements of the different police corporations.

The intention is to guarantee the safety of visitors, inside the port, and during their journeys on the road, as elements will also be deployed at the accesses to Culiacán, Durango and Nayarit.
