Mario Delgado inaugurates consultation forums for the construction of a new teacher system

The Secretary of Public Education, Mario Delgado Carrillo , inaugurated the consultation forums for the construction of the new system for teachers . The consultation forums will be held from February 25 to March 11 in each of the country's entities, to collect and complement the best ideas and proposals.
As part of President Claudia Sheinbaum's commitment to eliminate USICAMM and make way for a transparent system, free of corruption, influence peddling, nepotism and any other irregularity that affects teaching work, Delgado said that unlike the neoliberal regime that stigmatized, repressed and denigrated the teaching profession, the arrival of the Fourth Transformation consolidated a new relationship between the Mexican State and education workers.
"We need to build a new system for teachers that is fair and equitable, where transparency and the fight against corruption are the fundamental premises of their actions; where the educational authorities of each federal entity assume their obligations and there are responsibilities for failure to comply with them," he said.
Accompanied by the presidents of the Boards of Directors of the Chamber of Deputies , Sergio Gutiérrez Luna, and of the Senate of the Republic, Gerardo Fernández Noroña, the head of the SEP highlighted that the disappearance of the Unit for the Career System of Teachers is not a simulation, since it represents the recognition that teachers are protagonists of the Fourth Transformation and drivers of the changes that are taking place in the country.
Before the president of the Political Coordination Board (Jucopo) of the Chamber of Deputies, Ricardo Monreal Ávila, Delgado explained that this recognition is manifested in respect for their labor rights and in the implementation of policies that improve their working conditions, salaries and professional development.
He considered that the new system should contribute to the ongoing development and updating of teachers, to the establishment of mechanisms that allow their growth and to the strengthening of the working relationship with the State to promote the active participation of the actors in the system.
In this context, he called on teachers, deputies, senators, union representatives and educational authorities of the country to reflect on transparency and corruption; elements for the assessment of the teaching and management vocation; improvements to the admission, promotion and recognition processes; participation of teachers, as well as union representation and specific issues regarding indigenous and Afro-Mexican peoples and communities, as well as people with disabilities.
