The cheapest town in Malaga to retire without worries: the lowest housing price

In recent years, Spain has become one of the preferred retirement destinations . Its various autonomous communities have become a home not only for Spaniards but also for European citizens over 65 who choose to spend their retirement in the country's regions.

With mild temperatures throughout most of the year, an active social life, and cities steeped in history and heritage, many retirees choose to invest their savings in living in municipalities that offer peace, culture, good food, quality services, and incredible scenery , as is the case in the south of the country.

The cheapest town in Malaga

Many people are looking to move to other autonomous communities such as Andalusia at this stage, but they avoid living in provincial capitals or large coastal towns, as these involve higher costs and, generally, a more hectic lifestyle. Malaga is the most expensive province in Andalusia , with an average housing price of 3,775 euros per square meter.

However, there are other municipalities with lower prices that may be an ideal option for retirees. According to the latest Idealista report, the cheapest in the province is Sierra de Yeguas , where the price per square meter is just 641 euros , making it much easier to afford a home.

This municipality, which borders the province of Seville, is not only the cheapest but also has approximately 3,500 inhabitants, making it a much more intimate and family-friendly environment than that found in a city. It's also worth noting that, despite high temperatures in July and August, the climate is very mild throughout the rest of the year.

As for services, although Sierra de Yeguas doesn't have a hospital, it does have a health center and pharmacy . It also has good connections to major cities, a friendly, rural atmosphere, natural spaces perfect for walks, and a rich culinary culture.
