This is the new locker room at the Ibercaja Stadium.
Real Zaragoza is gradually making the Ibercaja Stadium their home, the modular football pitch that will be their home for the next two years . The Aragonese team held their first training session at the stadium this Friday, and this Saturday (9:00) they will play their first match, a preseason friendly against their reserve team, Deportivo Aragón .
The first team will miss La Romareda, but they want to gradually acclimatize to the new stadium, where they will compete this season and next. One example is the locker room, which has been completely customized to make Real Zaragoza feel at home.
Based on a much simpler base design, the club wanted to personalize the space with Real Zaragoza's colors, with distinctive lighting and special seats for its players . Above each seat is the number of each player's jersey. "Aúpa Zaragoza, arriba ya ganar," reads the motto affixed to the upper frieze of this space, with a blue floor and club crests in various locations.
After Friday's training session, Saturday will be the first time Real Zaragoza players will use this space on matchday. Two more friendlies will follow, this time with fans, against Mirandés and (probably) Huesca. The first official match at the Ibercaja Estadio will be against Andorra , on the second matchday of the league.
