Tucumán's universities sadly bid farewell to the Pope, who received an honorary doctorate from the UNT.

Francisco was awarded an honorary doctorate from the UNT. Through its public communication channels, the university recalled the tribute it had paid to the Pope in 2017, when the highest authorities of the Rectorate awarded him the title of honoris causa doctor in an unusual ceremony at the Vatican. On that occasion, the Holy Father received in his private library a delegation made up of the rector Alicia Bardón ; the vice-rector José García ; the deans Silvia González , Rosa Castaldo and Mafalda Silva ; the vice-deans José Remis and Marta Tejerizo ; the superior counselors Griselda Luccioni , María Inés Isla and María Inés Gómez ; professor Francisco Gerardo Raya ; the secretary of Graduate Studies at the UNT, María Cristina Apella ; and the director of Ceremonial and Protocol, Estela del Valle Palacios ; and the assistant Elena Gordillo . This week, the university honored the Pope's transformative message, his spiritual leadership, and his work for the poor.
