Two people murdered in a bar in Pénjamo, Guanajuato

GUANAJUATO.- Two men died and two women were seriously injured in an armed attack on the “Cheers” bar in the Palo Blanco neighborhood in Pénjamo, Guanajuato.

The incident occurred at 10:50 p.m. on Monday, February 24, 2025, when a group of men arrived at the establishment , located on Argentina Street, and detonated their firearms.

Security authorities were alerted by calls to 911 that several people were injured; paramedics from the Red Cross and Oximedic arrived in ambulances to transport two women in serious condition.

In reports, witnesses said that men on two motorcycles showed up at the bar, where they fired shots and quickly escaped. They also said that at least one injured person was taken in a private vehicle to the civil hospital.

Municipal police and elements of the Army and National Guard coordinated in delimiting the perimeter and preserving the evidence.

The officers remained there overnight to assist representatives of the prosecutor's office, who processed the scene and collected the bodies of the deceased.
